steven

steven is the cutest dad. he loves his boys so much. he has been so cute with finnick and is always eager to help with him or watch him. when he comes home i can always count on him helping me feed him while i get some stuff done. i tried to make father's day exactly what he'd want. i'd say a 3 hour nap (while we're out of the house), pulled pork sandwiches and his favorite, a no bake cheesecake were all a pretty good deal. (i was so jealous of that nap!) i'm so glad steven gets to do what he loves as a career and thankful that heavenly father answers mine and the kids daily prayers in the car- to keep him safe. i'm also thankful that he is a smart pilot. i love that i can always count on him to make me laugh. sometimes all day mommy mode can be a little too serious and i like how the instant he gets home, he lightens the mood. we like steven! he's the funn(i)est!

Bastien's 6th birthday party

i cant believe my cute little sassy Bastien is 6!

..but most days i can because he already acts like a teenager.

he loved sharing his party with his cousin Evan who has a birthday

the day after and is 4 yrs older.

we had the party at espee park.

my ambitious plans went from a sweet ghostbuster/slimer cake into a green lantern cake(easier), then to "bastien do you care if i just make green cupcakes?"

he was cool with it, thankfully! i dipped them to make it look pretty but on our way to the park our a/c stopped blowing cold air and they all melted! i'm so greatful that steven is the type who just pulls over, fixes a wire and then the a/c works again!

we had a great turn out with family and friends!

Finnick-2 months

finnick is actually almost 3 months.

i used to think i had nothing to blog about and now i cant get caught up.

oh the days when i was bored!

-At his 2 mo checkup he weighed 12 lb 6 oz and was 23.5 inches.

-he started smiling a couple days before he turned 2 months.

(my slowest smiler!)

-started waking up 2 times at night again to eat.

(i hear 2 months is a growth spurt)

-still likes the binky!

-i started putting some 0-3 months clothes away:(

-loves baths

we love our little finny and i cant imagine ever wanting him to come out a girl!:)

he's the sweetest!

finnick's blessing day

Finnick was blessed June 5th. Steven said lots of good stuff but the one thing that stuck out was that he blessed him to have close relationships with his siblings and family. which is good cause i want my boys to be the bestest of friends!

my brother vuna and his wife jenny have a baby 2 weeks younger than finnick. i hope they grow up to be good buddies.

embry's tongue

a few sundays ago, embry bit his tongue pretty bad! Steven was brushing their teeth before bed and he slipped off the stool and hit his chin on the sink. it was later than they usually go to bed-around 9:30. i was feeding finnick while it happened so i only got one look at it, and i just saw blood. Steven said that it looked pretty bad so i took him..wanting to just get all this over with since it was already 10pm and i was tired! So when the nurse called him back to get his vitals he asked Embry to stick his tongue out. There was this perfect straight line of a cut with a piece of tongue hanging out. I felt sick and tears started coming but i held them back not wanting to freak Embry out. he still saw my face but i didn't seem to affect him at all. he is one calm and collected kid sometimes cause i can imagine that hurt pretty bad! After 2.5 hours (which isn't too bad for the ER) the doctor just said that since it was in the middle of his tongue it would grow back together pretty quickly and stitches would actually be a worse option for with all that saliva the anesthetic shot would create. and also with a 3 year old freaking out they would have to put him out. so it was just a liquid diet for a few days and by about Friday it looked amazingly better! He liked the idea of going to the store and picking out yogurt and applesauce that was just his. The 2nd picture is the morning after and it looked way worse in person because you can see the dimension of the flap. but he handled it like a champ and i was the only one who ended up being a little traumatized by it.

helicopter date night!

Steven's been flying since 2006 but i have never been able to fly with him yet! So it was really awesome to be able to see Steven in his element, and see what he does in his life away from us. steven is really cool! (but i already knew that:) This is the hangar that he works in. These are all Rotorway helicopters, he flies these and is also working as a mechanic on them.

but, we flew in the schiewzer.

after we took off we flew by this old airport that has a bunch of old planes everywhere. it's cool to see what is just in the middle of nowhere.

then steven landed on the top of a mountain!

then alongside Ironwood

then over the mesa temple

and then back to the airport.

he let me fly for a bit and i actually kept it pretty steady. it was the coolest date i've ever been on & steven is a really (hot) good pilot.
