father & all my kids campout!

Steven took the boys to the ward father and sons campout last weekend at Roosevelt Lake. It was just me and Finnick for the night and it just seemed a little lonely so we ended up at my parents house. i basically just sat on the couch feeding and holding the baby while watching tv. it was nice! my mom and i rented this movie called "waiting for forever" with rachel bilson in it. the preview looked cute. but really, i was just waiting for forever for it to end! ha. you know i just wrote about watching this movie so i could tell that joke.....again.
anyways here are some pictures steven took.
they had fun and i had fun.
father and son outings are just a win win for everyone!
(but i guess not for those with all girls.....yikes.....sorry!:)
Steven said it wasnt even cold, it was actually too hot. and hard to sleep
(usually it's the other way around, even in AZ)
he took these cool pictures of the moon at 1 am.

mothers day

i feel so grateful to be a mom to these four insanely cute boys! steven said once that whenever he'd see families in his ward with only (and lots) of boys he'd think "that would suck!"
but now, we are those people. (thanks to steven)
i really love having these boys! and i'm such a lucky duck that Heavenly Father thought that i should get them! they are so sweet, especially to me. i don't think you are ever truly loved enough until you have a home full of 5 boys that love you! it's the best!
we took one with me in it (since it was mothers day). but i just nastified that picture up real nice. really need to start matching up to my cute family.
and soon.
proof that they love me:)

instagram

for mother's day steven got me an itouch. (suspiciously a week after he dropped his out of a helicopter:) i didn't think i'd use it, but i am getting addicted. which kind of scares me, but i think i have a pretty good balance..and i dont think i'm on facebook anymore than i was before. so, i saw a friend using this app, instagram on facebook and i love it! the itouch doesnt take amazing pictures, so this app makes them look all vintage-y, instead of crappy. i also love the "lose it' app. i have about 20 more pounds til i get to pre-finnick weight. sucks! i only wish i could remember i dont have any clothes to wear when i'm in the ice cream isle at walmart. anyways, here are all the cute instagram pics.

2 years away from 30!

steven turned 28 on tuesday. so freaking old! just kidding. i was talking to a friend who is the same age as me and she was saying that in most cases people look their age determining how many kids they have. which i think is so true. but then she has one kid & i have four so that means she looks 21 and i look about hmmm..50? being the youngest kid. i've always got "you're not old enough " or "she's the baby!" so it's kinda weird getting older, especially cause i dont feel any older than i did after i had bastien and i was 21! but to 21 year olds, i'm sure i look like those older (not old) couples who have a million kids! oh well- age is all about how you feel and thats all that matters.
so back to Steven-since it was his day and all, we wanted to make his day special when he came home from work so the boys picked out Tangled decorations for him. i'm sure knowing they would probably never pick the theme for their birthday (even though they would want to) they decided they were going to enjoy it through daddy's birthday. you know steven loved it. (cause rapunzel is hot!)
Steven's big present was a nixon watch. steven bought me my first nixon watch for my 18th birthday, then one for graduation, and then 2 more after we were married. it kind of became a tradition of ours for birthdays to get eachother one. well now most of them are crazy expensive, like the cool ones are up to 500 bucks! i found one on sale and had to get it since he hasnt gotten one in a while. steven wishes he hung on to all of his since the older ones really are the best ones. (and they used to only cost like 80 bucks!) i have most of mine and they really are a special thing i want to always keep. there are lots of memories tied to nixon watches for us. Steven was an awesome boyfriend, we were never an off/on couple. Since late 2000! crazy! But he has been an even better husband & dad. He's always treated me like really likes me & makes me feel funnier/prettier, etc than i actually am! I love how much he is in love with our boys & is so willing to help with finnick. i take a while to warm up to mostly everyone. but when i remember when i first met steven getting into the back of the scott's van for youth conference, i never had a thought of feeling shy and instantly felt comfortable whenever we talked. he was pretty cute, too and i remember a few girls flirting with him at youth conference. that would usually intimidate me around him. but there's something in his presence & silly humor that will instantly put you at ease. i love that about him! he can say some really off the wall things in public..and they're even worse at home. i think someone has joked to him saying "here's the line. and here's you. you crossed it" but that is one of the best things about him! he's definetly a character and i can imagine life being pretty dang boring without him! happy old day steven!

finnick-one month

i was blogging when i had the twins but didnt ever really do monthly updates. now i wish i did cause i am wanting to remember the specifics about what their milestones were & comparing them to finnick's. one thing i'm glad i did blog was when they slept through the night. so now i know the twins slept from 9-5 around their 2 month mark, so that is the goal with finnick!
Right now Finnick is:
-waking up once at night (falling asleep at 10-11pm, and waking around 2-3am. the only problem we are having most nights is it takes him a while to fall back tosleep. like sometimes 2 hours) he sucks in alot of air when he eats. and needs to be burped alot after.
-he doesnt smile yet, but you can tell when he wants to cause his eyes get reallybright when you talk to him.
-the boys still act so sweet towards him. i love how bastien acts genuinely excited about him & says "aww..you're so cute!"
finnick is the sweetest baby. i've noticed that i just want to enjoy so much of him because as fun as twins are, in the beginning-you get jipped just a little bit on loving thenewborn stage. if you want to enjoy them at all, you have to have to be so strict about getting them on same sleeping schedules (or you lose your mind!) and you cant relax at all when you're feeding them bottles, it's alot of maneuvering & multitasking (feeding one while burping the other) i look forward to feeding finnick cause i can just relax and sit with him. (while watching all the seasons of 'friends' of course.) i think since having one again after having the two- i am alot more relaxedright now about him not sleeping in his crib or laying by me in bed, but at the same time i dont want it to bite me in the butt later. so i want to try to establish more of a routine like i did with the others. he's only 4 weeks & the twins didnt even leave our room until they were like 6 weeks so i'm not really worried.
i love little finnick & the sweet sweet spirit he's brought in our home. i cant get over just how sweet he is. can one baby be sweeter than the others? i'm sure i felt the same about all of them. basically what i'm saying is, if you've had twins- have another one cause it will be noticeably more enjoyable!
keeping it real though- i do feel way behind on almost everything! my house is a disgusting disaster, i cant seem to ever remember to get something decent prepared by the time dinner time comes, and i am eating my feelings right now.(50 percent off mini cadbury eggs anyone?) i'm sure this has got to be pretty normal & vaguely remember feeling this way before. thank goodness for the weekends. steven is such a help with everything, he cleaned this morning, played trains with the boys, and is feeding finnick right now as i blog:) these weekends are what get me through the week! and looking at these cute faces, too i guess!
what the boys did all day.

four eyes

i met steven when he was 16 almost 17 and he had just gotten contacts. so i've never ever known steven as the glasses wearer that he was for most of his life. whenever his contacts bothered him he always said he needed to get glasses, but never did until just now. he's been wearing them all the time & i love him with glasses!
just when i think he cant get any cuter, he does. Oh Staben!
Oh and baby finnick is ONE month today! i love him!

easter weekend

ward easter egg hunt
easter dinner at my parents & then another egg hunt with the Fa cousins!
bastien found the golden egg!
stopping in the middle of the hunt to eat some candy
i got called to the ward bulletin person in my ward. every week for the cover of the program i get to find a quote for it. i like this because that means i have to read a conference talk to find one. and i'm not the greatest at watching conference, so this will be good. this week i read the april 2010 talk by thomas s monson "he is risen" and i used the quote:
"My beloved brothers and sisters, in our hour of deepest sorrow, we can receive profound peace from the words of the angel that first Easter morning: “He is not here: for he is risen.”
i liked his talk. and i'm excited to be "forced" to read a conference talk every week:)

zoo

steven had an extra long easter weekend, we were really spoiled. he didn't have to work thursday or friday! on friday we went to the zoo with friends.
nicole's cute boys: jorgen & lars.
we're gonna miss them when they leave in june!
(and gunnar, too:)
there was this bird with her nest in the prairie dog area,
i'm hoping prairie dogs don't like to eat baby birds.
