i aint 'fraid of no ghost

a ghostbuster ghost, a Ghostbuster, and a Staypuft Marshmallow man.

Steven thought that was Embry's real belly. I stuffed it. I shouldve taken a side picture.

We started the night off at the Berkey's house. We had mummy dogs for dinner. Nicole made a bunch of treats, pumpkin bread, caramel chocolate apples (yummm!), and we had some Witches brew out of a cauldron!

Then the kids played some games like:

mummify your daddy

and donuts on a string

Then we went Trick or Treating..and met up with some more friends!

Embry-staypuft, Averie-fancy bird, Lopaka- Plex from yo gabba gabba, Gunnar-storm trooper, Bastien-gB, Jorgen-pirate, Jappy-candy lovin ghost. ...look at Averie surrounded by all those BOYS!
So Jasper is a clingy kid. We know this. He's scared of mostly everyone. But as soon as he saw that these strangers were giving kids candy in their buckets....he was skipping around happily away from his mommy from house to house. What kids will do for candy!
After TorT we went to my parents house and hung out with the fam. They were all there, I love that!
So 5 of the boys in our family were ghostbusters, not planned.
Had to get a picture of the happy ghostbusters. Dont look too excited! It was cool seeing all of the variety of home made PROTON Packs.
Ana and Vuna did great jobs making theirs! They were so creative! Ana put packets that held "ghost slime" and put glow sticks in the guns to make them glow. and Vuna attatched ipod speakers to Wesley's so it would play the shostbuster song..cool huh?!

Cousins...Soakai, Lana, Tali, Maizi, and Ashley and Whitney

handsome little Peter pan

The twins were pretty pooped by the time we got to my mom's. And dirty! Embry mustve fallen in the dirt, street and rocks like 15 times while we were trick or treating. It started being hilarious when he'd fall because it was like every 10 seconds. (it didnt phase him..number one concern was More candy!)

By the end of the night Embry looked like a dirty, sticky roasted marshmallow.

crib adventures

The past few weeks my mornings and after naps have been consumed with pee. Pee everywhere! I'm scared I'm going to be one of those people who's so used to the smell of urine and dont even know they smell like pee! Jasper used to take off his diaper, but onesies and one piece pj's helped. With Embry and his hulk muscles, onesies dont stop him, he just rips the buttons open like nothing. And so now Jasper has seen Embry start to do it and now he does it again, too. Every morning I go in their room their diapers are on the floor and there is pee all over their sheets, blankets, and pillows. A few times there have poop incidents, but I've chosen to forget the details. I tried duct tape but they just ripped it off. Last night I used packing tape and it actually worked! I saw one piece of packing tape on the floor that Embry managed to get off, but I wrapped it around them a few good times. It was so great not having to wash their bedding this morning! It's a pain to have to wrap them in tape before naps and bedtime, but I guess I'll take that over getting peepoop surprises twice a day.

Look at Embry's crib tent. If you didnt know a human baby slept in there, you'd think a baby lion did. It is seriously hanging by a thread. All it needs is one more swing, and it's done. Bastien never touched his, and Jasper's crib tent is perfect. What am I gonna do? I refuse to put them in toddler beds right now!
Look at my sweet little caged animal.

round 2

I renewed my bodybugg membership today. I havent worn it since March! I looked at my first weigh in on the apex website from back in Nov 2008 and it was 30 lbs more. (wouldve been 37 if I hadnt gained back some these last 3 weeks) I feel like I'm still the same weight I was last year. Isnt that weird? I keep thinking..how did I even lose those 30 lbs? I cant remember doing anything special. I'd still mess up occasionally on the weekends. I struggled with working out every day. And, it's not like it was fresh baby weight. The twins were almost a year when I was that weight. These past 6 months I've been stuck in a major rut...
and it's really been a downer, man!
But today I was thinking..6 months ago was around the time I stopped wearing my bodybugg! Maybe that's why I've had such a hard time?! I do remember trying to always get to my calorie burn goal even if I hadnt eaten the best that day. I was looking at my weigh ins on the apex website and I actually lost HALF of those 30 lbs from November-December! The month that is full of hard to resist yummies! So if I did it back then...I can so do it again:)

motivation

Anyone want to buy me these vintage 1950's dresses from Etsy? I promise I will fit in them within 6-8 months. speaking of...
Remember that whole P90x thing with the blog? (embarrased!)
Yeah, well..um since my first try a while ago (2 days of trying to be exact) I had such a bad attitude towards it. (maybe cause it's hard?) Steven would ask if i'd start it with him again every Sunday night and I never would want to. Well, our friends who have been doing it for 10 weeks look great. So seeing that... it's time to try it again. Here's to holding on to this Sunday night's motivation.

the thing these days

I wandered over to Stephenie Meyers website and saw that they have a movie in the works for The Host! I guess it's cool that every book you read these days is going to be turned into a movie. At first I read like 50 pages and wasnt feeling it, set it down for 6 months. Then when I picked it back up to read I got into it pretty fast after those first 50 or so pages. I guess I didnt in the beginning cause i'm not a huge fan of sci-fi body snatcher stuff, but this book is one of kind. I dont really know who would make a good cast for it, I like it when they use nobodys. This video here I found after I read the book. It's pretty cool how closely SOME of these random clips in it go well with the book. And I like this girl for Melanie.

a little excited

This is Steven's 2nd pumpkin he's carved in 2 weeks and it's only October 6th!
(The first one was a ghostbuster one that I forgot to take a picture of, dangit!)
Steven has outdone himself with this one, dont ya think?
But, it was Bastien's idea to put the little guy in there in his teeth, so clever!
Steven thought he'd cheer Bastien up by carving a pumpkin with him since he was sick during general conference Sunday and couldnt go to G-ma and G-pa Fa's to see everyone. Bastien was cute when I said he could get the little pumpkin at the store. he said "I'm so lucky today!" Bastien is wearing halloween pj's with a black widow on them. And every time he goes and gets these pj's to put on he says, "You're gonna be sooo scared when I put these jammies on mommy!"
What really DOES scare me..are these baby killers right here. This is our 4th scorp we've found living in these apts. I've never seen scorpions in any of my houses except for this one. I hate how they are the same color as my tile! I guess I shouldnt complain about seeing 4 in a year. I've heard some crazy numbers from our neighbors.
My costume plans are a little ambitious for the beginner seamstress. (me!) But I am determined to see this one through. Bastien wanted to be a ghostbuster this year..his will be the easiest to put together. (no sewing involved) But we thought Embry would be the perfect Staypuft marshmallowman. And Jasper is going to be Slimer. I think Slimer is going to be pretty difficult, but I've gotten a few good ideas and I think it might work. If it turns out bad I might just throw Jasper in the hammy down dumbo costume....kidding! (I do not favor Embry!) :)
November is, first my birthday, and I think I just might make Sprinkles a tradition. Steven laughed when they told him the total last time we went. I wonder if they get that alot? I think they're totally worth the price. I'm already looking at the website deciding which flavors I'm gonna get.
Then Thanksgiving weekend the FA Family reunion is finally going to be here in AZ! It's been sooo long since I've seen all my Fa cousins, i'm so excited!

(November 2002)

i love having so many things to look forward to!

security blanket

A couple people mentioned Jasper's ONE boot in the dancing video. Well this past week that one boot and one of Bastien's old crocs has been his security blanket. It's funny too because we have the other boot lying around where Jasper can find it. It's the combination that makes him happy. This morning we went to the mall and Jasper put those shoes on before we left so I just went with it. He also cries when I remove them for his nap.

See, Jasper isnt a shy scaredy cat all the time.

love his curls

12 months old

I remember how excited I got in January when I saw Embry's first little curl by his ear. 8 months later and he has a full head of them! I hope they stay,I cant imagine little Embs without his curls!

take 2 & brotherly love

The twins have made a hobby out of this, and I'm the sucker who keeps putting eggs at their reach. How fun to have a partner in crime though, right?
I wish I was a twin.

This morning Bastien said "Mom come look how cute the babies are!" I'm glad he loves them. Sometimes I worry. I guess thats brothers for you. So I have to capture moments like these, I didnt even tell them to do this. :)

I love Embry's cheeks in these pictures.

My new book obsession

Prepare for some obnoxious book raving from me, I guess. These books are the kind that you cant put down, because you cant stop thinking about it. Even if you're not a reader, you'll get pulled in. Here's a little bit of what its about. It's definitely a unique story. It's set a long time into the future here in North America, only it's not America anymore. America was a country that failed a long time ago. Now the country is set up into districts that are ruled by a place called the capitol. The capitol keeps most of the districts in poverty. And to discourage any kind of uprising that had been attempted once before, and to remind everyone how much power the capitol has, they hold an annual event called Hunger Games. You'll have to read them if you wanna know more.
Katniss Everdeen is the main character. Terrible name, but probably one of my favorite heroines. She's tiny but she's tough. And so refreshing that you dont want to smack the whinyness out of her like some other girl character. (*cough*Bella) I dont really know who i'd want to play Katniss. When I read the book for some reason I kept picturing Ellen Page.

Peeta Mellark. Names in the future are weird. I guess that makes sense.
You will fall in love with Peeta even if Katniss doesnt.
I think he'd be a perfect Peeta!
William Mosely
(Peter from Narnia)

Oh, Gale.

I feel so bad for Gale and I want to root for him, and then I dont because I like Peeta too much.

Have you seen "Jane Austen book club" ?

Kevin Zegers was in it and he just screams Gale to me.

In Catching Fire there is a character named Finnick O'Dair. I love his name. Uh oh, I sense another name steal coming. Good thing I'm not pregnant, and with a boy. Finnick is described as one of the most attractive humans everrr. And since Chace Crawford couldnt be my Edward. I choose him as my Finnick pick.

Wouldnt it be awesome if I could cast this movie? It would be full of ridiculously good looking humans.
