that aint no etch a sketch...

even though i've had this blog for 3 years, its the first time i've gotten to anounce being pregnant on my blog! i started this blog in 2007.a month after i found out with the twins. today i was fighting the urge to buy a test. but then i remembered that i found out with bastien & the twins on this same day. (the first day of my missed monthly fren) so in keeping tradition I drove to target, bought a test & the result was welcomed. I've been suspecting it. not just cause we were trying..but the past couple weeks my body was acting not in the norm. first- is the constant pimples. & not just the tiny ones i'll get every now & then..but those crazy underground monsters that no one can see at first, but you just cant stop touching & then they let their beastly selves be seen by all. am i painting a pretty picture of my face?
second was- ever since july 1st i have been rocking my diet & excercise. i jog every morning mon-sat at the park across my house. & have been really keeping my diet in check with just a couple slip ups. for me- that is great. and i was losing weight!Until a couple weeks ago to be exact. its been like pulling teeth to get the scale to go down.
one thing i'm scared about being pregnant again- is gaining my usual million pounds again because i think i have a free pass to eat m&ms all day. it took me too long to lose the twins 30 lbs & dont even get me started on bastiens baby weight. (which isnt fair to blame bastien for :) but i figured if i treat this pregnancy like i'm on a diet, i will actually maintain, ha! (dont worry mom, my diets are not real diets) & hopefully only gain that 30 lbs of baby & water weight i always do the last 2 months. (*ps- my mom is so funny when i tell her i need to lose weight. she always says "just dont become anorexic" HA!! i wish mom. )
we are excited. obviously i would be so happy to see what our girl would look like (& i'm dying to dress one!) but i would be so thrilled with another boy. i almost want a boy because i'm in love with my next boy name & i want to use it! plus i would love a boy because all my boys look so different. maybe we'll get a curly blonde or a redhead. or a black baby! :)

change in sight.

we leave oklahoma in 3 weeks! steven has been here 13 weeks, us 9. we are getting really excited to come back to az. but i also feel like this place has majorly grown on me. i love looking out my window & seeing big green trees. I love being able to jog at 8:30am in the summer without dying of heat stroke. i love steven leaving for work at 9:15..i always wake up in a better mood when steven is still there in bed. dates here are like disneyland, the sitter has prices like disneyland, too. (what happened to 10 dollars being amazing for the whole night?) but it has always felt so worth it since i never see steven as it is. let alone just the 2 of us! last saturday the boys made their goal & we got taken out to a dinner & a movie. first we went to a mexican restaurant called alfredos. it reminded me of that Cravings place in Queen Creek. it was allright. i think i'm just biased to my precious Rosa's. Then we went to the 9:30 showing of "Inception". That movie was like mind boggling. i couldnt stop thinking about it for days & actually dreamed within my dream a couple nights later. I loved all the actors in it..Leo is amazing. His movies are always nuts. Has anyone seen The Beach or Shutter Island? ( not that i recommend them) I liked seeing Ellen Page outside of her usual Juno character. I love her & i'm glad she has more to her as an actress than just sarcastic comedy. (which i still like)
Anyways, it was way fun to hang out with the Moxie group & i cant wait for our Cali trip! it has been fun having Steven work for a company with fun things to look forward to! We get to go to Newport for 4 days after we get back to AZ-kidless! I have been dying for a vacation. its long overdue! not really dying to wear a swimsuit but i have only myself to blame for that. My 30 lb summer goal has only been 7. booo to myself.
i think this summer has been really good for me. I have appreciated Steven so much more. I got really used to the 6-3pm schedule he had before & took it for granted. I realize how much I need Steven to feel like a better mom, but at the same time I have felt like I actually can do things by myself & i dont need to rely on steven (or my mom:) for everything. does that make sense?
I'm looking forward to getting back to seeing Steven before 10pm. and i'm so looking forward to seeing my family & friends! see you soon..21 days to be exact.
ps- dont you like the ingrid michaelson songs on my playlist? it always feels like striking gold when i find great new songs!

a decade with steven

MOnday was our 7th anniversary!
but i always just go from the year we started dating because i pretty much knew i was going to marry that boy early on. I cant believe its been a whole decade of us. i do feel like we've been together a long time but i dont feel sick of him even a little. i hear alot of people say that when you get together young its easy to grow apart because you are not the same person at 26 that you were at 16. that last part is true but i think steven & i have always been very compatible that its just always been easy to be with him & easy to like him. i like him alot! here's to another great decade with my bestest friend!
i dont have any new pictures cause all my pics are in storage right now. but here are a few from our dating years.

this is how steven answered me to christmas formal soon after we started dating & i tried to leave these stars up as long as i could. ripping them down was my nephews favorite thing.

this is a year & a half later & you can see a couple stars there on the right.

we had just gone to our stake pioneer trek & our morp theme that year was cowboy take me away. i had to convince steven into getting back into these clothes. (it was so much easier to sweet talk him those days..whats up with that?)

steven & i at my graduation.

i love this picture of Steven. or maybe i just love this picture cause it has my newborns in it & that reminds me how much i want another human growing in belly right now. look how white embry was! (he's on the left)

nature & books

unless you live by a mountain..mesa is pretty lame when it comes to finding beauty in nature. (besides the sunsets) so it has been awesome to see things that you just never do at home. last night it was thundering & lightning & they sky looked like this. this doesnt really do it justice, the sky looked amazing.

after all the rain this week we got all these freaking huge mushrooms.

remember when we first got here steven found a turtle right outside the apartment? well this morning when i was walking back from a jog at the park across the street..the same turtle (well he looks exactly the same & it was the same area) was right by the curb next to our car just staring at me. He was basically asking me to take him home. I dont want him to end up in the road again so later today we're gonna take him to the park across the street. he's so little & has the cutest face. Bastien is begging to keep him but i feel like a jerk keeping two turtles unless we made them a cool area to let them roam around outside. & since we only have a few weeks left here, that's probably not gonna happen.

this cute little creature was waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs after i ran back in the house to grab something...so i kept him.

these books saved me a few days last week when i felt like i was going to poke my eyes out with boredom. You know those books where you wish you could re-read them again for the first time? They were really easy reads & they were over too soon. I wanted more of these cute characters. Dont let the covers fool you that they are too girly or cheesy. I love it when the author is actually a funny witty person because it comes off in her characters.

read these..you'll like!

moOoOooo!

we got free food at chick fila! & thats all it took was 5 minutes of cutting leftover black & white paper..saweet!
(yeah, the ears were pretty bad.. but we walked in.they gave us free food. it worked.)

my little brown cow didnt want anything to do with his white spots.

my cute skinny cow is always holding on to his pants when he runs.

its been randomly bright& hot, then dark& rainy all week. we went swimming on thursday morning then woke up from our naps to a crazy thunderstorm that felt like our roof was going to crack.

rainy fourth of july

we were pretty bummed when it started raining nonstop after church yesterday. we drove to the festival anyways & saw they had postponed everything until today. we were making the most of it with our sparklers on our balcony when we got an invite to go see the show in Norman that was still happening. (it had stopped raining!) the show started when we were still on the freeway but it was pretty long so we had time to pull over right in front of it & see a pretty fantastic firework show. fourth of july just isnt right unless you see fireworks..
and say happy birthday to my mom!

jasper prefered to watch from a safe distance.

afterwards we went to benji& jackie's house. on their balcony they have a cool reptile room that bastien has been talking about every day since we last saw it. he wants an iguana, salamander, frogs&water turtles just like ben.

bastien letting josh know that he has an iguana on his back.

then we went outside & finished up our sparklers.

embry just liked to stick them on the wet ground & watch them sizzle out.

(cute belly jackie!)

there were like 10 frogs or more in this little pond by their apartment where they were all croaking loudly & doing their biness. bastien was having fun catching them...

..and making them kiss eachother.

berries & bricktown

on wednesday we picked berries at an orchard. it was extremely hot & sweaty but so fun, something thats never been apart of my childhood, so it was fun to bring my boys here & see them love it. i took pictures, but connie did too & hers were way better:) i told steven i'm getting spoiled with seeing my kids pictures with a really good camera.
so, i guess i need a better one now!

last night we went to bricktown in downtown okc.
we went there to see toy story 3 with the boys. bricktown is way cool!

grocery store & kites

Yesterday we went with the mother's group in our ward to tour a grocery store here called Homeland. it started out with them getting their own recyclable grocery bag to collect goodies at each area in the store. they got a cookie from the bakery, a balloon from the florist, an apple from produce & they got to touch a lobster in seafood. then on the way out they passed by the toy area & gave them a kite and then let the kids scan their kite at the checkout & get a reciept.(the kite was free:) i'm hoping it will make bastien love the grocery store now, because he usually groans & threatens not to come when he hears we have to go to walmart.
after the cute tour we took our kites & flew them at the park by our house.

jasper & bastien were holding their kites so well, embry didnt ever want to.

brody was just busy like the little bee on his kite running around not letting his mom take a picture:)

love for bbc

i have been netflixing all these time period movies lately, and cant seem to get enough. pride & prejudice, sense & s, & becoming jane..you know & emma have been those that i can watch all the time. but i have been venturing out & i've found some new faves! here are some that i've watched since coming to oklahoma. (alot, right? yeah steven thinks im crazy, too)

i love this one. its pretty long but i think the longer the better with these kinds of movies, right? the main girl amy, is very likeable & cute. and (mr. darcy) plays in it & honestly i wasnt really sold on him, until this movie! i love p& p because of keira knightly, but now i love it because of matthew mcfayden, too! i texted my mom the next day because i knew she had seen it, & we both agreed that his character in this is so loveable that you actually miss him & want to watch again. so little dorrit is a must.

this one i saw as a preview on little dorrit, i think. i really liked this one. you'll love the 2 characters below & the girl, molly is such a good person its ridiculous. (i like those people)

i also saw this newer bbc version of s&s as a preview on little dorrit. it was good. i couldnt help but think "no they're saying it wrong" since i'm so used to the other one. i liked the actors that played edward ferrars alot & eleanor. but a few of the other actors were pretty terrible. maybe its just cause i'm so biased to the hugh grant version.

this one is based on real people- the author john keats & the girl he loves. so these ones are always a bit more depressing. but the actress in this is amazing. she looks like nicole kidman & katie holmes mixed together but she's her own too. she made the movie. there is a part where you are like, wow..how was she acting in that part? it was so real. also in the movie she makes her own clothes & i love them all. i couldnt find a pic of my fav outfit. but i would want to dress in her dresses today!

i havent ever seen any other versions persuasion before this. is there a better one? i like the story, but the main girl drove me nuts throughout the whole thing.

i know i'm so late in the game with this one, but I love love love it! its so cute. how have i not already seen it?! its going to join the exclusive list of the ones i watch regularly. love fanny.
(edit: i watched it again & i didnt like it as much as the first time.
i dont think it makes the list anymore, but worth watching)

so..which other movies like this am i missing out on? tell me!
i'm running out of movie to annoy steven with.
