It was so weird looking at pictures of him as a baby just now..he's so big now! I told him I needed to give him birthday spankings and asked how many I should give him. I said.."How old are you?" He's all "2?" (We've been over this MANY times) After asking him a few more times, and him answering every number but 4, I said "Bastien, you're four!"

And then he said "Okay, Okay...spank me!"

Mary made his bday cake. He was very particular about who he wanted on his cake. A few nights before his bday he gave Steven his Lightning, Doc and Mater and said "Tell mommy to put these on my cake"

He just recently became a fan of 'Cars' again..

Payson Sprint Triathalon

We did this with a few couples in our ward...it was SO much fun! Friday we spent the night at my parents so that we could leave at 4am to get to Payson to check in by 6am. It was so hard to fall asleep cause I was so worried I would sleep through the 3 alarms I set, since I usually just turn it off in my sleep. But I ended up waking up at 2:45 wIDE awake. We drove up with the Berkey's and they're so much fun! I was laughing the whole car ride up! I wasnt really nervous before it started, but when I started on my 2nd lap in the pool I started to feel some major anxiety! Okay so every time I'd talk to everyone about training for it..they'd ask if I was training for the bike part. And I thought how hard can biking be right? I've done spin classes..I'm good. I freaking hated my life during the first lap of the biking. It was never ending HILLS! Love the show, hate real Hills. It was Payson though..shouldve expected it I guess. Steven and I got lost a bit by like 10-15 minutes! They had some confusing arrow signs. Then on my 2nd lap I took a wrong turn and got lost for about 5 minutes! Of course, I was probably the only one too, who got lost this much...or at all. On the first really nasty hill I told Steven to go ahead..so I was on my own to face a million more hills. Hate Damn hills. When I finally saw the end I had to break it to myself that I had to do this AGAIN! The guy was like "First lap go straight, last lap turn right..oh #142..you should be last lap right" and I was like "umm no" (embarrasing!) I kept seeing people pass me and I kept wondering if that was the last person to pass me and if I would be the last person to finish, even though I was only in the 2nd heat! Anyways..me talking about the biking part is almost as long as it took to ride it so I'll move on. Once I got to the running I felt pretty happy. I passed the 1 mile mark and thought..i'm good. Then the 2nd mile sign seemed to never come..finally when I was finished I saw everyone in my group already done and I hated all of them..jk. As I was finishing, Steven started singing really ugly.. "Its your life..what you gonna do?" (remember from Biggest Loser when they ran the marathon?) My results were

500 m swim: 13 m 45 s, 15 mile bike: 1 hr 52 mins (no one got near as bad as that..haha!) and the 5k run: 43 m 6 sec

I was thinking about the biking today and I thought..I wanna do that again! I'm just weird and crazy. No but.. It was so much fun..and I've never done anything like this before. And it was even more fun doing it with a group of people! Steven did awesome ..considering he would never run with me and he didnt train even a little bit for it! Everyone else in our group had like amazing times..and Clarissa got 4th out of our age division..which is like most of the people there!

I love this picture because Jasper doesnt just warm up to anyone that easy. But he's always liked my dad ever since he was teeny. And its not like it's because my dad constantly holds him. But Jasper has always been cool with just sitting on his lap.

Memorial day weekend

We went to 2 different parks this weekend. It was good FREE fun for the kids. Last summer Bastien was all cooped up in the house because it was more of a pain to do stuff like this with the twins being 5-6 months old. But now its easier and Bastien gets a fun mom this summer!

..and since it was so HOT I thought the babies would like their own popsicle while we waited for them to ride the train. They didnt really grasp the concept of a popsicle and thought it was more fun to throw them on the floor and watch me pick them up and clean them off, then repeat the fun all over again.

Then on Memorial Day we were gonna use our Zoo membership but on the way we got a flat tire and the kids and I ended up eating our packed lunch in the car while we waited for Steven to change the tire. (Good thing it happened with Steven there..it was on the freeway, too!) Once we got back on the road everyone was kinda tired...so we just went to Freestone Park..and didnt really do anything. Since we already ate our lunch in the car..and they dont have a splash park! They really need to get with it. These days you're not a ReAL park unless you have a splash pad..derr!

But we did get to feed the ducks!

I love the way Bastien is looking at Steven here. One thing I was noticing while I was sitting watching Steven play at the park with Bastien was, that he plays with Bastien because he geniunely wants to. He looks like he's having so much fun playing with him..he doesnt just play with him cause Bastien asks him to. He really loves being with him and I can tell Bastien just idolizes him. They have a cute relationship. Steven asks Bastien: "Whats better, a plane or a helicopter?" And Bastien says "A helicocker". He's trained him well.

Overall we had a good (and HOT!) weekend!

"tubatubs" & owies

Embry is obsessed. I rented Teletubbies for Bastien and Embry will just stand there and stare..mesmerized. He's so cute cause he calls it "tubatubs".

Jasper will stop for second to watch but he's mostly concerned with the buttons on the tv..then he goes back to discovering whats inside every cabinet in the house. I guess he's not into baby talk & gay british puppets.

Here's a video I got of him watching it. If you listen closely you can hear him say "tubatubs" a few times.. but then he sees a dog on the tv and starts making his doggy noises.

OUCHIE!

Yesterday we were at the park with some friends in the ward and Embry walked up and grabbed the grill (luckily it had been a while since people were using it or I think his burns wouldve been worse!) It was so sad when he started screaming..burns are the worst! He kept freaking out when we tried to put cold water on it so Steven gave him a sucker and that seemed to make him forget the pain. I saw these big blisters this morning! Poor little Embs! He will take you up on any pity you decide to give him and milk it..He holds out his hands and goes "Oww" and waits for me to kiss it. (so cute!) He actually made himself cry this morning just with me talking about his owies to him! He's so funny!

Biggest Loser withdrawls!!

Biggest Loser Finale trip!!!!!

Probably the most fun and coolest experience I've ever had! Steven and I drove to LA on Sunday and got to our hotel around 5pm. When we got to Downtown LA we saw Jesus of all people standing over a freeway overpass. LA really has some crazies. (This is the pic I took and it turned out very creepy)

We stayed at a hotel like right in the middle of Koreatown or there's a Tokyotown somewhere around there too so I'm not sure which one it was. But it was actually a pretty nice hotel for the area it was in. My parents, Ana and Mary and her family all stayed in it too..My brother Vuna couldnt make it since he just got an awesome new job as a SCiEnTiSt (seriously!) All that hard schooling paid off:) But he was definitely missed at the Finale..the trip wouldve been ALOT of fun with him!

On Monday we were supposed to maybe get to tour the Biggest Loser Ranch. But Sione's schedule ended up being really full with the rehearsal of the finale. So we went to Santa Monica Pier and walked around (not much to see there) and then we ate at the Bubba Gump on the pier and it was soo good! Then we went to that shopping center Promenade and it was really fun to walk around ....and see the crazy people that show up there. I heard this girl singing that I thought was just on the radio on the speakers around us..but she was actually singing there with her guitar. Her name is Chelsea Williams. She has such a clear pretty voice!

Later Monday night we went to the hotel where all the contestants were staying and everyone was in the lobby. It was cool to meet everyone. It's weird seeing them all this time on tv and then hearing a bunch of stuff about them..you feel like you kinda know them already. Here are some pics I got:

Tuesday morning we woke up and Steven and I went jogging (with a silent j) at the beach near Santa Monica. It was really fun! I wish I could jog there everyday. Then we left around 1:30 pm to go to the Studio where they were filming the finale. We waited for about 5 years outside before we were able to go in the actual studio. But it was kinda fun to just hang out and talk to my cousins and Dane's sisters Brandi, Dendi and Tawni. I loved it that we had family and friends there that we already knew! We finally got seated and the place was really small so you couldnt have a bad seat. It was so weird actually being there once it was getting started. It was so much fun and I had alot of energy ..but standing and cheering for 3 hours is exhausting! It was so exciting to finally see Sione and Filipe come out. I watched that part on tv today and I was bummed it didnt really show Sione do the moonwalk when he walked up to Allison. We didnt see Bob and Jillian in person until about an hour and a half into the show! That was the best part. I must say I'm not a fan of Jillian but she is so pretty in person...at least from far away cause I never met her. (didnt really care to) Oh, and Allison Sweeney is like.. gorgeous in person! Whenever it was commercial breaks Bob would keep doing the haka dance moves towards our section...he's really funny! I was sooo happy Jerry won the 100k! But, I soo wanted Tara or Mike to win. Helen looked a little unhealthy but whatever. Even though I obviously wish Sione or Filipe won the 100k, I'm just glad someone who deserved to win (Jerry) won something.

I asked Hehea if she wanted to take a picture with Mike with me and she's like "No, I still hate him" Then Fotui said she'd go with me to take a picture with him.. As much as I didnt like Ron for some of his manipulative ways or even Mike for a couple of episodes...that part was just a game ..and its over! Ron actually seems like a pretty nice guy and Mike seems really cool and laid back. Can you tell I'm so tired in this picture? Well, I wasnt...I was exhausted! Hea told me my eyes were closed in half of her pictures! haha burnt!

As much as she kinda bugged me in the show (with how she always acted like Laura was pulling her down)...she seems pretty cool and lets face it: She's a machine and she's definitely inspiring!
