A Must Read!

(Thanks for recommending this on your blog Shanon!)

I just finished this and I must admit I bawled like a baby within the first 10 pages, and that wasnt the only time. Alot of books that I still end up liking I will sort of lose interest halfway through and pick it up later and read the rest. But nope, this one is a page turner. The love story in it with Sarah and Captain Jack Elliot is one of my favorites. I didnt think I would like it set up like a diary, but I ended up loving it! You fall in love with Sarah and her little family. It also makes me grateful that I live in Arizona in 2008 and not during the 1800's. For those of you who've read it, this morning when Steven kissed me goodbye while I was asleep I guess I incoherently said to him "Dont get bitten by rattlesnakes".

Oh, and I just looked at the authors website
and there is a sequel and a 3rd one!

First steps!

Embry took his first steps last night and has done it twice today! I bet he will be walking before he's 10 months. He's also a climber, he trys to climb up everything! I walked in the living room and he was just chillin like this in his big boy carseat! He's also a little scaredy cat like Bastien was. So far, he's scared of the vacuum, bastien's toy vacuum with eyes. In fact he wont even go in Bastien's room because of it. Sometimes he forgets it's in there and then sees it and crawls like a speed demon straight to me crying hysterically. It's kinda funny. Oh, and today he was all of the sudden scared of his bath. Embry and Jasper have learned how to open all my kitchen drawers and cabinets! Sneaky little things. I told Steven I should just put the toy vacuum in the kitchen and he will stay out. Or I wouldnt cause that would be mean, although he's really cute when he's scared so I'm tempted.
Oh, and thank heavens we moved them to the next size up carseats! The infant ones were a mother to carry. I limped to the car when I had to carry them both. I miss having a garage! Anyways, I wanted to find a stroller that actually fits in my trunk (our triple doesnt, we have to tie the trunk down) So I found this one on craigslist for 35 bucks in great condition and they are $90 new at Burlington! I use the stroller to bring them to and from the car to the house. They look so big in their carseats and you can tell they feel like big boys! I should've taken a picture, but here they are in their stroller.

Jasper is still a major Daddy's boy. He likes me but when Daddy comes home from work his face lights up. Oh, and Jasper says "dada" all the time. Trader!

dont wanna forget

Sometimes we'll say "Remember when Bastien used to say/do this all the time?" And then it makes me sad that I had forgotten and didnt write it down. So here's a couple on my mind that I didnt want to forget.
Every morning as Steven leaves for work Bastien says his list of goodbyes to him:
"Goodbye.....Have fun...Be fafe (safe)...wov you...and the other day he added this one..."Dont let strangers get you".
-To my mom he said "Isnt that amazing?"
-He's heard that "Bleeding Love" song by Leona Lewis alot and he said,
"Mommy, my owie keep bweeding, keep keep bweeding"

I heart Jim Gaffigan.

This guy is hilarious! We have his DVD. We like to pull it out on occasion and show it to people when they're at our house. Oh, and if you didnt laugh we totally judged you. Here's a bit that where he makes fun of the holidays. Enjoy.

"lets eat turkey in my big brown shoe"

Thanksgiving is in 2 weeks! I'm definitely not a person who likes to cook dinner alot. I'm real good friends with the microwave. But I love to cook and bake during the holidays. I've never done a turkey. I've been meaning to every year so we can have all those leftovers but we never do. This year I am for sure and I found a couple yummy looking recipes in a magazine and I've been deciding on which look best.
( I dont feel like writing the recipe out, I'll just write down the ingredients, spices that go in it.)
"Greek Lemon Turkey"
(garlic cloves, oregano, lemon juice, salt, pepper..other stuff)
"Cider Marinated Turkey"
(apple cider, salt, bay leaves, fresh thyme, cloves, garlic cloves, allspice, navel oranges, sage, onion,)
"Citrus Rosemary Rubbed Turkey"
(fresh rosemary, grated orange peel, grated lemon peel, salt, onion anf garlic powder, pepper, olive oil)
Tough decision...What'd you think?

Oh, and if you want the recipe to one of these, I can email it to you.

Bastien's First bday!
For those that dont know about Bastien's drooling problem. It was insane. He could soak a bib in less than a minute. The bibs ruined all his cute outfits. ANd he drooled until he was a little over 2 years old!

Goin' for the Gold!

I just barely changed him into this shirt before his bday cake pics...

... look at that drool damage!

new to the whole present thing.

flashback pt 2

These pics are from my old 35mm camera that I got saved on a CD. It took me like 2 yrs to fill this roll up, Dec '03-May '05. Obviously I wasnt a picture taker back then.

My g-ma breeds Shih tzu's. And in early 2005, after visiting my g-ma, my mom brought home a pregnant shih tzu, Cinnamon(or Tabby). And she birthed out the cutest puppies ever. I think Ana was supposed to get this dog, but she was moving into a house that didnt accept pets so I ended up getting her and we named her Oreo. She was the CUTEST little thing. But I've come to accept I'm not a good dog owner, so we ended up giving her to my uncle. Also, she was only like 9 weeks when Bastien was born and newborn puppies and newborn humans are alot of work combined.

Michael and Tasha Scott's Wedding
April 21 2005

Steven and Michael Scott, best friends since kids.

I remember this day also because we closed on our first home and got the keys! I was 7 months pregnant with Bastien ***6 mos preg with Bastien in the Woodcreek apartments on Gilbert
March 2005

Steven and his little brother Kevin playing xbox all night long. This was probably a couple months after Steven and I were married. Steven and Kevin used to do this alot on Friday nights. I would go to bed and wake up the next morning and they were still playing.
Oh, and I dont know why Savannah's in this picture, maybe we were babysitting her.

Dec '03- Aww.. little 2 year old Evan babes. Wasnt he the most darling little boy ever with his adorable curls? I remember crying once to Steven when you guys lived in Florida because I missed Evan so much!

When they only stayed a couple of days during Christmas. I remember taking Evan everywhere with Steven and I. And he saw the Christmas lights and would say "(binkie slurp)...look at that!" He was so cute when he'd talk through his binky.

Going through my picture folders...

I was going to try and remember things about 2005 since I didnt journal or blog back then. But it all seemed too overwhelming to try to remember things in order. So I just decided to go through a picture folder each day, pic the ones I like and try to remember what was going on then. Here's the first folder, Theyre not all in order by date and some are randomly placed. Folder #1
My bros/sisters and spouses at Mary's OPen house July 2004-before heading off to New Zealand to get herself hitched to Aisake.

Steven's dad used to hold Bastien almost the whole time we would visit! Bastien got to where he "knew" G-pa would walk around with him outside/everywhere, so he expected it every time he came over:)

The good old C&C days! I think this mustve been around 05-06.
We used to hang out alot and go on fun trips to Vegas, Kingman, etc. But, stuff happened called... Korea, a sudden plethora of kids, and England..we sure miss you guys and the good old days:)
Steven was just telling me the other day how he misses being silly with you 2!

We went to Utah for Thanksgiving in '05 and stayed with Christine and Jeremiah. Here's Bastien-5months, with his cousin Cody.

Can you tell I was a little worried he might be cold while he slept?

Ah, Bastien used to be SO good in his playpen. He could entertain himself really well while I did the dishes or cleaned. I wish the twins were like that. They hate being in the playpen.

Bastien's first Christmas (6 months old)
and our first Christmas as parents
in our first house we bought!

Right before Steven started Silver State Helicopters (RIP) He was determined for a while he was gonna learn how to play the drums. It was SO annoying! He wouldnt stop banging everywhere. Luckily he found a new love-flying helicopters.

That's the end of this folder.

This is going to take a while since I have 3 years of pictures. If you hate it, then you can make like a tree and get out of here.

Zoo and the weekend

Saturday we went to the Zoo. It was the babies first time. I had some of Bastien's old hats that I used at the zoo for him. They were all too small on Embry, he got his mom's big head. That just means we're smarter, Embry. My mom is so nice and got me and Ana a membership (again) I'm really gonna use it this time! Walking around that place will give me more calories burned on my bodybugg:)

Bastien was the twins age (9 mos) in this first picture on Steven's shoulders!

Getting ready to leave for church. Bastien took a picture of STeven. He's very good at telling people how to pose. He said "Do this." (posing silly) and so Steven took his direction.

Jasper's definitely a daddy's boy. He was acting really grumpy, so I sat him by Steven and he cheered up.
Am I biased or is this not the CuTeSt little face Jasper is making!?

..playing in their little clubhouse

(the corner where the couches meet)

We have been watching season 7 all weekend (Thx Ana!)

Tom Welling=HOTTTT!!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

first attempt

I'm lazy and cheap when it comes to keeping up with hair trims. I'm sure you noticed it was about that time for Bastien. I actually love it grown out, and I was hoping for it to look like his uncle Kevin's hair . But now It's just gotten mullet-like long in the back. I looked up how to cut it myself online and thought i'd attempt it. It took forever and he got really wiggly so I kinda got lost with what I was doing somewhere in the middle.. He kept saying,
"You annoying me mom"
I still am not real pleased with how it turned out, but it looks cleaner and the back looks better, so... I guess practice will make perfect (hopefully someday) .
And i'll have lots of boys to practice on.

Does this part look weird?
