First Prayer!

Bastien said his first prayer last night. When we put him to bed he wants me or Steven to say like 5 million prayers before he will even consider going to sleep. Also, he needs "more Nilk" ..( I've tried to get him to say milk with an M) But I asked him if he wanted to pray..I guess I should've thought of this earlier, right. My favorite is how he says Jesus "Jeezoo" . But it was so cute..he'd repeat everything I told him to say ..then he wanted to say it again and again! Now we're gonna have to start getting ready for bed even earlier so he gets to sleep at a decent hour!

2 months old!

I cant believe it's been over 2 months! They had their checkup on Wednesday and Embry used to be a whole pound heavier like a month ago, but he caught up. Embry was 11 lbs 13 oz. and Jasper was 11 lbs 7 oz.

I love that they take binkies. Bastien would not! I can finally buy cute mam's.

9 weeks old

I love how Bastien loves his brothers. He talks such cute baby talk to them. He calls them "Japer" and "Emmy". At night when they used to stay up later than him, before we put him to bed he'd go "Night baby" then go to the other one and say "night baby" He will always stick the binkies back in their mouths, too. I'm glad I've never had a jealousy issue with him and the babies. It's suprising, too...since there are 2 of them. He's never taken being sometimes attention deprived out on the babies. He's such a good brother. Now I hope I can say all this when they get old enough to be interested in his toys!

This is Jasper smiling, Jasper was the first one to smile. But now Embry does all the time and coo's at you while he's smiling..it's so cute! But, I havent gotten a pic of Embry yet. I tried today but he was too hungry and wasnt having it!

Easter Weekend

On Saturday we went to my sister Ana's and the cousins had an easter egg hunt.

On Sunday we had a yummy dinner at Steven's sister Becca's house, watched "I am Legend" and the boys played Rainbow Six.

This is our old dog, Maddy. My brother in law Kevin lived with us for a few months and kinda "adopted" her when he left. I think we were meant to get Maddy for him. He LOVES her and takes such good care of her.

Here she is when she was 7 wks old. I got her for my bday back in 06. She's such a pretty lab. I love that she kept her pink nose and green eyes.

Isnt Embry such a chunkers? He weighed a whole pound heavier than Jasper like 4 weeks ago. Look at his cute little belly in this picture!

I didnt buy easter outfits cause they are growing so fast I can hardly keep up with the outfits they do have! Brandi bought these cute CK onesies for them. Thanks! They sure looked cute in them!

Oh, happy day.

We've got some 9-5'ers! Yep, they slept from 9pm to 5am last night! Let's all pray it happens again tonight! Now, if only I can get to bed before midnight then it will be a good nights rest..kinda.

(This is them when they slept in a co-sleeper type thing on our bed. It took a few weeks of absolutely NO sleep to start losing my mind and finally I just moved them into their own room in their crib, and they sleep much better! And most importantly, so do I!)

I think I would've loved them if I wasnt though.

So, as much as I get excited about a singer and their whole CD, I've never had any desire to go to a concert, because I figure I can just listen to their music on their CD and it will sound exactly the same. Until back in December of 06, I found Joshua Radin through the Last Kiss soundtrack. I found out he was coming to Tempe and I thought if their was anyone I wanted to see it would be him. That was also when he was on tour with Schuyler Fisk, who was sick that day but still sounded really good! (She's that actress Sissy Spacek's daughter) Steven went with me and wasnt too excited to go in the first place, but ended up really liking his music. Anyways, he ended up being even BETTER live and wasnt too horrible to look at either.

I've listened to his CD " We were here" so much I'm sick of it, and have been waiting for him to come out with new songs! He finally did and he sings one with Ingrid Michaelson called "Sky" ..listen to it. It's on my playlist.

Life with newborn twins and a toddler

I go days without seeing the sun.

I realize at noon that I havent brushed my teeth yet or ate anything. (If only I could forget to eat the rest of the day)

When I'm feeding the twins: They both cant eat good just once together. They switch off acting like they forgot how to suck..or taking FOREVER to eat!

I think they are soothed by eachothers cries..because when one is crying, the other is sleeping soundly..then that one stops and the other one wakes up and starts whining.

My shirt is disgusting by the end of the day..there is double the spit up.

Burping 2 babies at once is very tricky!

Bastien is enjoying our DVR a little too much these days. I record all his fav shows: Curious George, Caillou, Little Einstiens, Tigger and Pooh...bad I know. But it keeps me sane.

My neck has a huge knot in it from constantly looking down (when feeding)

I dream of the days when I could easily just take a nap when Bastien did.

This is the most sleep deprived i've ever been in my life. I went to my Dad's bday party on Wednesday with just Bastien (Steven watched the twins) and my brother said to me, "This is the most awake I've seen you in a while" (It's cause at the last get together for Soakai's blessing..I was passed out on the couch most of the time!)

I'm not the homebody type...but it's just so much easier to stay at home these days. We dont go anywhere except grocery shopping on the weekends now..it's just too much work.

Sometimes when I am dressing them in coordinating outfits, I start to think I am favoring one by putting him in the cuter outfit! Silly, yes. Now I just tell myself that I will put the cuter outfit on the other baby next time.

• On the plus side- Steven helps so much when he is at home. I think he realizes this time he doesnt have much of a choice. He started helping me with night feedings, too ! What a nice guy!But , at the end of the day ....they are (obviously) SO worth it.

I went to the foot doctor to get inserts when I was 16 and he said I have the flattest feet he's ever seen. There is NO arch whatsoever. My sister Ana said when I was little and i'd get wet outside my footprints on the sidewalk looked like little cartoon frog feet! I think this is why I could never wear those crazy high heels!

Soakai's Blessing

Sunday was my nephew Soakai's blessing. This was the first time I had gotten to see him! Boy he is a CUTIE!

Sione's little girl, Maizi was so motherly and interested in the babies..she kept putting the binkies in and out of Embry's mouth! Isnt She SOOO CUTE!?

Ashley and Jasper..(she's from the other set of twins in my family..my brother Vuna's little girl) It was Cute how long Ashley sat there and held him!

Bastien just relaxing....even though he was not very relaxed that whole day...he was a naughty little boy who "pushed the girls and made them cry" well just one girl ..his cousin Lana who he has a Love/hate relationship with. "Sowwy" is what he's usually saying to her.

My sis Mary's "Baby Tali" is what Bastien calls her..He LOVES her! He always talks about her saying "Baby Tali nice" She is so freaking CUTE, huh?

My sister's boy Evan..he's so funny how he'll pose for the camera..I love my "Evi's" curls!

The words of Joey Tribbiani sum it up well for me.

Not with eating a whole turkey ..but with breastfeeding. I dont know how anyone does it with one let alone twins. Jenny- HOW? HOW did you do it?! I have been strictly pumping and obviously my supply is not matching their needs. I have to give them some formula,too. I love the way they drink the breastmilk and HATE the way they drink the formula..they act lke they are choking it down sometimes. Anyways, I decided last night to just switch to strictly nursing and it was HELL. I nurse Jasper for 15 mins on one side while I am trying tokeep Embry happy with just a binky in his mouth (they are on the same schedule, so both were hungry) Then Jasper just snacks ..takes a few sucks and stops forever . Then I put a still hungry Jasper down...and pick up Embry and try to feed him for 15 minutes on the other breast. He just keeps falling asleep (At least they are pretty good at latching so I cant complain there) I do this for seriously almost 2 hours straight. All the while ..Bastien is wreaking havoc all over the house. He got out frozen chicken nuggets and was eating them saying "mmm nummy" then spitting them out everywhere saying "OLD!" So the 2 hours is up with me switching each kid every 15 minutes....(there's no way I could hold them both at each breast ...cause I am still getting used to just one there) and I go put Bastien in bed ..come back, and they are both screaming bloody murder like they havent been fed at all. I felt like crying because my 'nips' had turned into hamburger meat by then (sorry TMI) and just made some formula and gave it to them. (cause I didnt pump beforehand..cause I had a different idea of how this was going to turn out)

I gave up last night...but still havent yet given up on the idea. This weekend is going to be pretty busy with errands and my brothers baby blessing in Maricopa..so I'm not going to have any time to just devote to feeding ALL DAY LONG AND NIGHT (thats gonna suck) So I think I'm going to re-attempt this on Sunday night or MOnday. I wonder why I am torturing myself sometimes with my obsession with breastfeeding this time. But then I remember all the colic/formula crap I went through with Bastien and I know it will be worth it. There's nothing wrong with formula feeding your baby. Bastien turned out to be a perfectly healthy kid who hardly gets sick..with the exception of this flu season...Also, I am not by any means a Breastfeeding nazi (well that's obvious!)..I actually HATED it when people would make comments to me about Bastien not being breastfed. I've heard anywhere from ...someone telling me " It's just so much better for your baby" while I am sitting there holding a bottle of formula in my 5 month olds mouth...to...an extreme comment like "I thought you were breastfeeding? OH yeah...you gave up on that one, huh?" The reason I want to do it is (besides that the babies are doing so well on BM) is to prove to myself that I can at least once and also to freaking burn 1000 calories a day (nursing twins) ! Anyways, I will be amazed if you actually made it through this blog...good night I gotta go get some sleep while I can!

Is it just me and Steven? But dont you think they look different? Some have said they look identical...But, I mean yeah, they both look like newborns still so its hard to tell FOR SURE yet...But we both think they look completely different. Embry looks more like my baby pics..he has darker hair and he's got tanner skin.BIG eyes that are WIDE open all the time. Jasper has Steven's forehead ..he's got the blonde highlights in his brown hair that steven has. Besides looking different..they are both night and day in their personalities so far. Embry is more high maintinence ..he is constantly wanting to be held. It makes me feel bad cause Jasper is so laid back that I feel like I am paying more attention to Embry. But Jasper is such a good baby! I should be thankful though that they both arent stinkers!

Poor Jasper is losing his hair on top just like Bastien did! He is the only baby i've had that had a reasonable amount of hair when he was born and he's losing it! He looks like a little old man...bald on top. Bastien's old man head only lasted a couple months so lets hope Jasper's does too!

Jane Austen

I just saw this last week and it made me want to read all of her books. Pride and prejudice, Emma, and Sense and Sensibility are 3 movies that I can watch over and over. Seriously, I'll rewind the part at the end of Sense and sensibility a few times, where Edward proposes ..then I wanna watch it again. I dont know about the ending of Pride and Prejudice where he says "Mrs. Darcy...Mr's Darcy, Mr's Darcy Mr's Darcy.." a million times..that was kinda akward.

Anyways, I figured since I LOVE the movies..the books will probably be even better..I dont know why I havent already read them.

I'll start with Emma. Because I have that book but never read it. Then there are other's she wrote that I havent even seen the movies. Like ...

Persuasion ( I almost rented it once, but the people on the cover were ugly...sorry I'm shallow when it comes to movies..) Oh and,

Mansfield Park, Lady Susan, Northanger Abbey, and of course Pride and Prejudice, and Sense and Sensiblilty. If any of you have read these books..let me know which ones to start with. I'm trying to figure out which part of the day I can find some reading time...since I cant even find any sleeping time. I guess if I still find time to blog..i'll find some time to read:) Once the babies start sleeping through the night..I'll have more time! But things are getting better though! They both slept 4 hours last night! 11:30- 3:30! That was the most amazing sleep ever..I've never felt so rejuvenated at 3:30 am!

By the way, wasnt James McAvoy strangely hot in "Becoming Jane" ?
