first attempt

I'm lazy and cheap when it comes to keeping up with hair trims. I'm sure you noticed it was about that time for Bastien. I actually love it grown out, and I was hoping for it to look like his uncle Kevin's hair . But now It's just gotten mullet-like long in the back. I looked up how to cut it myself online and thought i'd attempt it. It took forever and he got really wiggly so I kinda got lost with what I was doing somewhere in the middle.. He kept saying,
"You annoying me mom"
I still am not real pleased with how it turned out, but it looks cleaner and the back looks better, so... I guess practice will make perfect (hopefully someday) .
And i'll have lots of boys to practice on.

Does this part look weird?

Halloween festivities..

We started off the evening at my mom's where we had chili and mummy hotdogs. Then we went to Ana's ward's trunk or treat, which is my old family ward, Heritage Park. It's weird.... There are only a few OG H.P. ward people left! The boundaries have changed so many times and alot of people are gone.
I wasnt going to do any costumes for the twins this year. But my mom gave me the idea of Superman and Batman and it all came together pretty easy! My mom made the capes, and I made the logos out of felt and also made little logos with their first name initial on it to put on the front of their onesie. I bought black and red tights, and black and blue onesies at Walmart. I think it turned pretty cute considering how little money it took! My sister in law Jenny asked why they werent a vampire and a werewolf and I was like, DUH! I didnt even think of that!
Next year my friends, next year.

People thought I planned the binky to match, but that just happened to be the color of his binky.
Now we know who wins the superman vs. batman fight.

I eat pieces of Kryptonite like you for BREAKFAST!

the cutest little batman i ever saw

choo choo driver Bastien

I thought it would be a good idea to bring the playpen outside while my parents were passing out candy, the babies...not so much. (Wait, cant you just fly out Superman?)

(YOu'd think they'd be able to entertain themselves in their pack n play,
but they cry every time I put them in here.)

He put his bag of candy in the fridge before he went to bed and said

"mommy, I wake up and be sneaky and eat my candy"

At least he's honest.

What I REALLY wanted/needed!

I'm so excited, my bday present came in the mail today! It's a bodybugg.
It's slogan is "take the guesswork out of losing weight" They use them on Biggest Loser. It basically knows exactly how many calories you are burning and you log in how many calories you are eating so you know the exact deficit you need to have to lose however many pounds you were aiming for each week.
I have a LONG weight loss journey/lifetstyle change ahead of me. It's shameful that I used to watch Biggest loser thinking "Oh at least I'm not as big as those girls" And now I weigh the same, if not more than a few of them. I want to feel better about myself like I used to and I really feel like I've reached the end of my rope. I'm tired of feeling tired, especially since I kinda need energy with these 3 boys. And the fact that I'm only 24 is sad. I also know that I requested this sorta pricey gift and I dont want to dissapoint Steven when he was excited to suprise me with this when we really didnt have the money.
I hear this is addicting because you are excited to see the goal amount of calories burned so you become more active during the day with little things you do. Also, if you are interested in buying one you can go to 24 hour fitness. And I would do it sooner than later because pretty soon they are coming out with a newer model that's alot more money and I dont think these ones will be available anymore!

To get in the spirit of All Hallow's eve....

Before we went to the pumpkin patch I took pics of them in their festive clothes.

At the pumpkin patch, Bastien picked out a BIG one and a little one.

Then we went to Bookman's...

(every time I go there I'm reminded how much I love that store!)

....and tried to find Halloweeny movies

(that were kid friendly)

We found "The Witches" and "The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad" for 5 bucks each! Bastien loved the Ichabod cartoon. He made us rewind the Headless Horseman song and all the scary parts with the headless horseman over and over. I can also add that Bastien has outgrown his scaredy Cat-ness! He's not scared of the "BUzz lightyear on tv" anymore, he says!

And lastly, the master pumpkin carver, Steven, spent most of his Sunday carving this baby. Cool, huh! The the children must've started getting into the Halloween mood after seeing this jack-o-lantern because Jasper wouldnt stop making his somewhat frightening fraggle face and Embry was tilting his head back and howling like the little Werewolf he is.

And remember my friends this All Hallows eve...
"You cant reason with a Headless man"

My good little sleep in-er!

I think Embry deserves a post since he is such a good baby! Embry and I are the only sane ones in the house when it comes to what a decent hour to wake up is. He would wake up at 7 every morning if I let him, but 2 babies on 2 different nap schedules isnt fun. Jasper, Steven, and Bastien are all up around 5-5:30am!
We live with a bunch of crazies!
Jasper, sorry if I ignore you in the morning but my brain doesnt turn on that early.

I'm loving this season so far!

Phyllis: You know I know. And you know that they know.
Dwight: I know nothing of this. And if I did, I wouldnt tell you.
HAHAA!!
Dwight and Phyllis' little talks were killing me on The Office tonight!

fraggle rock face

It's a kinda long story how the fraggle rock face nickname came to be. But here it is. It crackes me up. He does it when he's being silly while I'm feeding him breakfast, or smiling for the camera sometimes. Steven teases me and says it's an ugly face, but then I remind him that Jasper looks exactly like him.

My mom bought him this little monkey beanie baby and he kept making his f.r. face everytime we showed it to him. LOVe it! I'd been making him do the face so much...by the time we got it on camera he already had his little f.r face ready before we showed him the monkey:) Here it is:

Dont worry Jas-we still think you're cute!

Twilight boys...

Jacob is so CUTE! CUter than Edward maybe? NOw that aint right!

Ok Edward, you're still the hottest.

Flashback: SUGGIES!

This is a really random way to start..but I realized I never told you about my SUGGIES! So come back with me to 2003 when I bought Pika, the sugar glider. Sugar gliders are an animal from Australia that are marsupials..meaning they carry their babies in a pouch in their tummy and they are nocturnal. (That got really annoying!) Pika was the cutest little thing when I got her. She had such soft fur and she was about the size of a large walnut and to bond with them you are supposed to hold them alot in your hand so they get used to your smell. She could easily fit in the palm of my hand. They love to be bundled up a little blanket and we used to let her play around our house and you'd see her dart from the entertainment center and jump onto the christmas tree! Oh, also in the wild they can "Glide" up to 150 feet with their arms..they have arms kinda like a flying squirrel. One time, when she was out of her cage ...she got really quiet and I was looking for her everywhere...forever! I was scared that she had climbed behind some boards in the cabinets or something or got stuck. But we finally found her, curled up in a little ball, asleep in the toothbrush holder!
(These are just cute pics I found online, not Pika)
Well, I was reading alot about them online and saw that they really need a partner to be happy. And it said that same sex ones dont really get along. So I looked into breeders around here and found her a boyfriend, or immediate husband I guess. Then the breeder told me the diet I had Pika on was a terrible one designed by the seller I got her from. I had been giving her something called "Glider grub" and apples and corn. I guess that diet can really hurt their mouths giving them something called lumpy jaw. Anyways, I all of the sudden had 2 sugar gliders with a diet that became Very HIGH MAINTENENCE! Every week I had to buy mealworms for them, cook them chicken, cut up fruits and veggies every night. And the boy, who we named Chuey...turned out to be satan himself! He was so MEAN to us...he bit us all the time, no matter how much we held him. But he did like Pika, so that was good. He was really protective of her though and anytime I reached in to hold her, he would bite me. They were so cute together, though. I made them alot of little beds all over their cage out of soft fleece and I'd look into where they were sleeping and they'd be all cuddled up together.
Pika, my favorite.
A huge problem with their new and improved diet was they started to STINK! really STINK! I thought that neutering Chuey would help with the smell and with is meanness. (Yes, they ACTUALLY have a vet here that will neuter little suggies!) But 180 dollars later , it didnt help.

Then I got pregnant and I really couldnt handle the smell. Pika had kinda been taken over by Chuey and didnt wanna play with me anymore. PLus, I was SO Self consious of people coming over..it smelled like PISS wherever there cage was. No matter how often I cleaned the cage. I'd put them in my room when we did have company, but people would always want to see them..so they'd come into my piss smelling room and I'd get really embarrased. So to wrap up this ridiculously long story my uncle adopted them..Chuey continued to be mean, from what I hear, poor little Pika fell in a weird way and died :( (When I found out I was pretty emotional and cried ALOT) And who knows what happened to Chuey. He never liked me anyways. I loved Pika, she was such a good little suggie. She was my baby before I had a baby.

Flashback to 2005 (coming soon)

The picture game got me thinking how I hardly ever journaled back before I had I blog. So, for my own journaling purposes and for Bastien, I'm gonna start back in 2005..and highlight the years events. And work my way to July 07 when I started my blog. This will either be really painful or really fun...we shall see.

Picture game!

Go to your pictures, then to your 4th folder, then to the 4th picture.. then try to remember that day. And tell us something about it.

Bastien was around 3 months old. Just another day hanging out at my moms house.
Steven was probably picking me up after he had gone home and showered first(after work).
Interesting story.
The end.

Our weekend

Friday I got to watch My nieces Lana and Tali while my sister Mary went to a friends wedding sealing. Then after Mary came over and hung out with me for a while. It was so much fun since she lives in Maricopa now and I never see her! And Bastien loved it!
Saturday night my mom watched Bastien while the babies slept at her house so Steven and I could go to the Drive-ins. It was fun..it seemed like we hadnt been out in a long time! I was gettin REAL sick of sitting at home every Sat night 'Redbox'in it! But we saw the double feature "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" and "The House Bunny"
They were allright. Both had some pretty funny parts.
We got home at around midnight and both babies decided they didnt want to go back to sleep. They were cooing in their cribs for a while and right when I fell asleep Jasper starts crying... like I'm supposed to feed him at that hour? I swear babies are mind readers and know exactly when you fall asleep and take that as their cue to wake you up! When they were newborns I swore they knew when I'd get into a comfortable position in bed. Sometimes I'd lay in bed ..not getting comfortable yet cause I KNEW that's when they'd wake up. So I'd just try to fall asleep laying there in my akward-half in bed position. I remember falling asleep once with my head on my bed but my feet were still on the floor, trying not to get too comfortable! I think I was just really sleep deprived back then!
Anyways, I feed them both, get in bed by 2am thinking that they might sleep in now maybe til 6:30 or 7... Nope! I hear them and look at the clock, 5:15am and they are both wide awake. I ignored them until Steven was so nice to get up with them around 6am. (Sat is his sleep in day and Sun is mine...when I say say sleep in I mean 7;30-8..it's hard to sleep in later when you're used to 5:30. ) But thanks to foam earplugs I was able to sleep til 9!
Sunday was just a normal church day, it's at 1pm:( I hope we get the 8am next year! But yesterday was Steven's mom's bday. She would've been 52. It's been about 2 and a half years since she died and we still REALLY miss her!!!!
Especially during the holidays. We've been meaning to go visit her grave at the Mesa Cemetary. I think we might go tommorrow so stay tuned for a Delma post!

Dancing to Seeping Booty

Bastien all ready for church. Yay I could put him in one of his cute sweaters that I've been waiting..... and waiting for him to wear! I hope this great weather sticks around!

His hair is getting SO LONG! But I still cant bear to cut it!
